§ 92.06. Inspections.

  • It shall be the duty of the fire safety inspector to inspect, as often as is deemed necessary by the inspector, but not less than once per year, all buildings, premises and public thoroughfares, except the interiors of occupied private dwellings, for the purpose of ascertaining and correcting, any violations of the fire code or the life safety code. Whenever the inspector finds any violations of the fire code or the life safety code, the inspector shall, by written notice, order the remedy of such condition. The owner of the premises on which the violation exists shall correct the condition causing the violation within the time specified in the order. Further, the inspector may order the vacation of any occupied premises on which a violation that constitutes a serious threat to public health, safety or welfare exists. This vacation shall continue until such time as the violation is corrected.
